Trailer Hitch Balancing Element Function

Self-adjusting elements, used for height compensation between longitudinal member and crossmember, are located on ends of the long sides of crossmember.

Screwing in hex bolt - 1 - automatically compensates the distance between longitudinal member - 3 - and spacer bushing - 4 - of crossmember - 7 -.





1 - Bolt

60 Nm

CAUTION!
Under no circumstances are hex bolts to be driven through carrier bushings by hammer blows. Bolts must be screwed completely through carrier bushings - 5 - of spacer bushing - 4 -.

Screw in completely, do not drive in by hammer blows.

No replacement part

Screws out of crossmember while screwing in hex bolt.

Broken lines identify the initial position.

Before installing crossmember - 3 -, make sure that spacer bushing is located in initial position.

If necessary, spacer bushing (left-hand thread) must be screwed in completely.

5 - Carrier Bushing

Plastic part, pressed into spacer bushing - 4 -.

6 - Cross Member

7 - Lower Threaded Bushing

8 - Threaded Plate

Riveted to longitudinal member from below with tubular rivet - 9 -.

- Before removing trailer hitch, fold connector coupling bracket downward and remove bolts - 3 - from bracket - 1 -.
