Left Intake Manifold Side-Section
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Spring-type clip pliers (VAS 5024 A)
Removing
- Carefully pull engine cover at the rear and middle upward and off - arrows 1 -.
- Then, pull the engine cover forward and off from intake manifold - arrows 2 -.
- Disconnect hose - 1 - from air duct hose.
- Remove left air duct hose - arrows -.
- Disconnect vacuum hose - arrow - to Leak Detection Pump (LDP) (V144) from intake manifold.
- Disconnect electrical connection - 7 - at throttle valve control module 2 (J544).
- Separate vacuum lines - 3 - and - 5 -.
- Pull off hoses - 2 - and - 6 - for crankcase breather.
- Remove bolts - 1 - and - 4 -.
- Remove left intake manifold side-part.
• Minimal oil residue in the intake manifold side part is acceptable
Installing
Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:
• Replace O-rings.
• Replace gasket for intake manifold side part if damaged.
• Secure all hose connections using hose clamps appropriate for the model type.
