Lateral Accelerometer: Service and Repair






Transverse Acceleration Sensor and Rotation Rate Sensor

The Transverse Acceleration Sensor (G200) and Rotation Rate Sensor (G202) are combined in one housing. It is located on the front tunnel under the air conditioner.

Removing

- Remove the center console extension.

- Disconnect connector from transverse acceleration/rotation rate sensor.

- Remove two bolts - arrows -.





- Remove transverse acceleration/rotation rate sensor.

Installing


Strong vibrations can destroy the sensor for transverse acceleration/rotational rate.

- Installation is performed in the reverse order of removal.





When installing transverse acceleration/rotation rate sensor, ensure it is correctly seated in its mounting and is free of stress.


The transverse acceleration/rotation speed sensor should never be forced into position using the fastening bolts.

- Tighten bolts to 10 Nm.

- If control module is replaced, select "Replace" function for respective control module in Guided Fault Finding using the Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System (VAS 505x).
