Charging System Control Module: Service and Repair






Energy Management Control Module

Removing

While removing and installing, no charger must be connected.

- If the energy management control module (J644) was replaced, select the "Replace" function for the corresponding control module in the "Guided Fault Finding" or "Guided Functions" operating mode with the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B).

- Select the function or path:






- Follow the instructions on the Vehicle Diagnosis Tester display.

- With ignition switched off, disconnect battery ground (ND) wire. Refer to => [ Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

- Remove ground stud - 3 - and nut - 2 -.





- Detach energy management control module.

- Unplug connectors - 1 -.

- Detach ground cable of battery from energy management control module.

Installing





When installing, always heed the following sequence, otherwise proper function of energy management control module cannot be guaranteed.

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable from the energy management control module.

2. Install energy management control module by installing and tightening ground stud - 3 -and nut - 2 -.

3. Connect ground (GND) wire to battery.

4. Connect connectors - 1 - on energy management control module.

5. Perform necessary steps after connecting battery. Refer to => [ To connect, connect terminal clamp of ground (GND) wire by hand to battery negative terminal and tighten nut. ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.

If energy management control module was replaced, it must be coded with the vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system (VAS 5051B).

- Select the function or path:






- Follow the instructions on the Vehicle Diagnosis Tester display.
