Track Control Arm Bushing

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Thrust plate (VW 402)

• Thrust disc (VW 412)

• Tube 42 mm diameter (VW 516)

• Tube (3296)

• Assembly paste (G 052 109 A2)

Wheel Bearing Housing Side

• Hold the track control arm firmly in position while pressing the bushing out and in.

Removing

- Remove the track control arm. Refer to => [ Track Control Arm ] Track Control Arm.

- Mark the installed depth - arrow - on the bushing - 1 -.





Use a waterproof felt tip pen for applying the mark.

- Install the special tools as shown in the illustration.

- Press the bushing - 1 - out of the track control arm - 2 -.

Installing

- Transfer the installed depth mark from the old bushing to the new one.

- Lubricate the bushing lightly with assembly paste (G 052 109 A2).

- Insert the bushing - 1 - into the track control arm - 2 -.





- Install the special tools as shown in the illustration.

• When installing, make sure the bushing does not tilt.

- Press the bushing - 1 - into track control arm - 2 -.

- Note the installation depth marking when installing - arrow -.

- Check the rim offset of the bushing - 1 - in track control arm - 2 -.





Dimensions - a - and - b - must be identical.

- If dimensions - a - and - b - are different, press the bushing - 1 - in more.

- Install the track control arm. Refer to => [ Track Control Arm ] Track Control Arm.

Subframe Side

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Thrust plate (VW 402)

• Punch (VW 412)

• Tube (3296)

• Assembly tool (T40032)

• Assembly paste (G 052 109 A2)

• Hold the track control arm firmly in position while pressing the bushing out and in.

Removing

- Remove the track control arm. Refer to => [ Track Control Arm ] Track Control Arm.

- Mark the installed depth - arrow - on the bushing - 1 -.





Use a waterproof felt tip pen for applying the mark.

- Install the special tools as shown in the illustration.

- Press the bushing - 1 - out of the track control arm - 2 -.
