Temperature Sensors






Temperature Sensors

=> [ Fresh Air Intake Duct Temperature Sensor ]

=> [ Left Vent Temperature Sensor ]

=> [ Right Vent Temperature Sensor ]

=> [ Evaporator Vent Temperature Sensor ]

Fresh Air Intake Duct Temperature Sensor

On the Audi R8, the Fresh Air Intake Duct Temperature Sensor (G89) is installed in the air intake unit but is not included in the electrical evaluation.

Removing

- Switch off ignition.

- Remove the air intake unit, refer to => [ Air Intake Unit ] Air Intake Unit.

- Remove the air intake unit upper cover, refer to => [ Air Intake Unit Upper Cover ] Air Intake Unit Upper Cover.

- Disconnect the electrical connector - A - on the fresh air intake duct temperature sensor - B -.





- Turn the fresh air intake duct temperature sensor approximately 90° in the - direction of the arrow - and remove it from the intake shroud.

Installing

To installed, perform the steps done during removal in reverse order. Note the following:

- Install the temperature sensor - B -.

- Connect the connector - A - on the temperature sensor - B -.

- Before installing the air intake unit upper cover, make sure the connector - A - is seated correctly and the wiring harness is routed correctly.

- Install the air intake unit, refer to => [ Air Intake Unit ] Air Intake Unit.

After finishing the repairs, perform the following work on the Climatronic Control Module (J255) using Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051/ in the "Guided Fault Finding" function:

- Check the DTC memory and erase any malfunctions shown.

Left Vent Temperature Sensor

Removing





- Switch off ignition.

- Remove the driver side instrument panel cover.

- Remove the center console left side trim.

- Remove the bolt - B - and the footwell vent air channel - A -.

- Mark the electrical connector - B - to the Left Vent Temperature Sensor (G150) (there is a risk of switching it with other identical connectors).





- Disconnect the electrical connector - B - on the left vent temperature sensor - A -.

- Turn the left vent temperature sensor - A - counterclockwise - arrow - and remove it from the A/C unit.

Installing





To installed, perform the steps done during removal in reverse order. Note the following:

- Replace the seal - B - if it is damaged or faulty.

- When inserting, make sure the wide guide - D - on the left vent temperature sensor - A - aligns with the mount - C - on the A/C unit.

- Install the footwell vent air channel, refer to => [ Left Front Footwell Vent ] Service and Repair.

- Install the center console left side trim.

- Install the driver side instrument panel cover.

After finishing the repairs, perform the following work on the Climatronic Control Module (J255) using Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051/ in the "Guided Fault Finding" function:

- Check the DTC memory and erase any malfunctions shown.

Right Vent Temperature Sensor

Removing





- Switch off ignition.

- Remove the glove compartment.

- Remove the bolt - A - and the footwell vent air channel - B -.

- Mark the electrical connector - A - to the Right Vent Temperature Sensor (G151) (there is a risk of switching it with other identical connectors).





- Disconnect the electrical connector - A - on the right vent temperature sensor - B -.

- Turn the right vent temperature sensor - B - counterclockwise - arrow - and remove it from the A/C unit.

Installing





To installed, perform the steps done during removal in reverse order. Note the following:

- Replace the seal - B - if it is damaged or faulty.

- When inserting, make sure the wide guide - D - on the right vent temperature sensor - A - aligns with the mount - C - on the A/C unit.

- Install the footwell vent air channel. Refer to => [ Right Front Footwell Vent ] Service and Repair.

- Install the glove compartment.

After finishing the repairs, perform the following work on the Climatronic Control Module (J255) using Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051/ in the "Guided Fault Finding" function:

- Check the DTC memory and erase any malfunctions shown.

Evaporator Vent Temperature Sensor

Removing





- Switch off ignition.

- Remove the glove compartment.

- Mark the electrical connector - A - to the Evaporator Vent Temperature Sensor (G263) (there is a risk of switching it with other identical connectors).

- Disconnect the electrical connector - A - on the evaporator vent temperature sensor - B -.

- Turn the evaporator vent temperature sensor - B - counterclockwise - arrow - and remove it from the A/C unit.

Installing





To installed, perform the steps done during removal in reverse order. Note the following:

- Replace the seal - B - if it is damaged or faulty.

- When inserting, make sure the wide guide - D - on the evaporator vent temperature sensor - A - aligns with the mount - C - on the A/C unit.

- Install the glove compartment.

After finishing the repairs, perform the following work on the Climatronic Control Module (J255) using Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051/ in the "Guided Fault Finding" function:

- Check the DTC memory and erase any malfunctions shown.
