Brake Light Switch: Service and Repair

Brake Pedal Switch

• To ensure secure installation and alignment, the switch may only be installed once.

Removing

- Remove the driver side storage compartment.

- Disconnect the electrical connector.

- Remove the Brake Pedal Switch (F47) by turning 45° to the left.

Installing

Note the following when installing:

• The brake push rod must be engaged with the brake pedal.

• When installing switch, brake pedal must not be operated.

• When installing the brake pedal switch, the plunger adjusts itself automatically.

• The brake pedal switch does not need further calibration.

- Remove the brake pedal switch completely from the plunger - arrow -.





- Insert the switch with retaining tabs - 1 and 2 - in the openings provided on the brake pedal.

- Engage the brake pedal switch by turning 45° to the right - arrow -.





- Connect the electrical connector.

• After adjusting the brake pedal switch, check whether the pedal is at the end stop. Check the brake pedal switch function by pressing the brake pedal.

- Install the driver side storage compartment.
