Knock Sensors

Removing

- Remove intake manifold. Refer to => [ Intake Manifold ] Intake Manifold.

CAUTION!
• Fuel system is under high pressure! Before opening high pressure components of the fuel injection system, pressure must be relieved to residual pressure. Refer to => [ Before Opening High Pressure Fuel Injection System ] Engine.

• Then wrap a clean rag around the connection and relieve residual pressure by carefully loosening the connection.

• Observe safety precautions when disconnecting the battery.

Electrical Harness Connectors





7 Knock Sensor 4 (G199)
8 Knock Sensor 3 (G198)
10 Knock Sensor 2 (G66)
11 Knock Sensor 1 (G61)

Remove the Respective Right Cylinder Bank Knock Sensors.





10 Knock Sensor 1 (G61)
6 Knock Sensor 2 (G66)

Remove the Respective Left Cylinder Bank Knock Sensors.

7 Knock Sensor 4 (G199)

Installing

- Install the removed knock sensor.

• Tightening specification, refer to => [ Ignition Assembly Overview ] Ignition Assembly Overview

• Tightening specifications affects function of knock sensor.

- Reinstall intake manifold. Refer to => [ Intake Manifold ] Intake Manifold
