Secondary Air Injection Combination Valves, Checking for Function and Leaks
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Hand Vacuum Pump (VAS 6213)
Procedure
• Hose connections not leaking.
- Remove Secondary Air Injection (AIR) system combi-valve, refer to: Left => [ Left Combination Valve for Secondary Air Injection ] Left Combination Valve for Secondary Air Injection, right => [ Right Combination Valve for Secondary Air Injection ] Right Combination Valve for Secondary Air Injection.
- Connect Hand Vacuum Pump (VAS 6213) to vacuum connection - 1 - on secondary air injection combi-valve.
- Connect an appropriate assisting hose - 2 - to Secondary Air Injection (AIR) combi-valve.
- Blow into the assisting hose - 2 - using light pressure (do not use pressurized air).
• Secondary Air Injection (AIR) combination valve must be closed, it must not be possible to flush.
- Operate the hand vacuum pump.
• The Secondary Air Injection (AIR) combination valve must open, it must be possible to flush.
If secondary air injection combi-valve does not open:
- Replace Secondary Air Injection (AIR) combi-valve, refer to: Left => [ Left Combination Valve for Secondary Air Injection ] Left Combination Valve for Secondary Air Injection, right => [ Right Combination Valve for Secondary Air Injection ] Right Combination Valve for Secondary Air Injection.
