Impact Member, with Trailer Hitch

Removing

Proceed as follows:

- Remove the rear bumper cover. Refer to => [ Bumper Cover ] Bumper Cover.

- Remove the socket for the trailer hitch.

- Free up the spiral clip - 1 - for the wire.






• Use a soapy solution if necessary make removal easier.

- Disconnect the electrical connector on the radio frequency controlled clock receiver (J489) - 2 -, if applicable.

• If the impact bar is replaced - 3 -, remove the radio frequency controlled clock receiver.

- Remove the tie-downs.

- Loosen the left and right luggage compartment side trim in the rear area.

- Remove the bolts - arrows - and the impact bar - 3 -.

Installing

• For the correct tightening specifications, refer to => [ Impact Member Overview ] Impact Member Overview.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Install the left and right luggage compartment side trim.

- Install the tie-downs.

- Install the socket for the trailer hitch.

- Install the rear bumper cover. Refer to => [ Bumper Cover ] Bumper Cover.
