Selector Mechanism Overview

There is a risk of injury and accident from accidentally engaging a gear when the engine is running.

Before work is done with the engine running, move the selector lever into P and press the parking brake button to engage the electromechanical parking brake.

1 Selector Lever Handle

2 Decorative Ring

3 Selector Lever Boot

9 Selector Mechanism Function Unit

Can only be replaced as a unit

10 Shift Lock Solenoid (N110)

11 Transmission Park Selector Switch (F305)

Consists of two microswitches on the circuit board on the shift lock solenoid

Can only be replaced together with the shift lock solenoid, refer to => [ Shift Lock Solenoid (N110) ] Service and Repair

12 Noise Insulation

Not on all vehicles; for the correct allocation, refer to the Parts Catalog

13 Lock Washers

Quantity: 4

For securing the noise insulation to the shift mechanism function unit

14 Retaining Clip

Secures selector lever cable on selector mechanism function unit

15 O-ring

16 Selector Lever Cable

Do not bend

Lightly lubricate ball socket with polycarbamide grease (G 052 142 A2) before installing.
