Evaporator Temperature Sensor / Switch: Service and Repair






Evaporator Vent Temperature Sensor

Removing

- Switch off ignition.

- Remove glove box.

- Remove right lower center console cover.

- On the right side remove the holder for the instrument panel - A - and the screws - C -.





- Remove the air duct to the front passenger's footwell vent - B -.

- Mark connector - A - to the Evaporator Vent Temperature Sensor (G263) (danger of interchange with other connectors of same construction).





- Disconnect connector - A - from Evaporator Vent Temperature Sensor (G263).

- Rotate Evaporator Vent Temperature Sensor (G263) - B - approximately 90° in direction of arrow.

- Remove Evaporator Vent Temperature Sensor (G263) - B - from heating & A/C unit.

Installing

Installation is carried out in the reverse order, when doing this note the following.

- Check the seal - C - for damage and proper fit.





- Insert the Evaporator Vent Temperature Sensor (G263) - B - on the proper side into A/C unit mount - D -.

- Install the removed components again in reverse order.

- Check the DTC memory for the Climatronic Control Module (J255) A/C control head and erase any faults displayed if necessary.
