Oil Line: Service and Repair

Front Oil Pipe

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Old oil collecting and extracting device (V.A.G 1782)

Removing

- Bring lock carrier into service position => [ Lock Carrier, Moving into Service Position ] Lock Carrier, Moving into Service Position.

• Before removing ribbed belt, mark the turning direction on it with chalk or a felt tip pen. A reversed direction of rotation can cause damage to the belt under operating conditions.

- Tilt ribbed belt tensioner in direction of - arrow - to relieve the tension on the ribbed belt.





- Remove ribbed belt and release tensioning device.

- Place used oil collection and extraction device (V.A.G 1782) under the engine.





- Remove bolts - 1 to 3 -.

- Remove front coolant pipe.

Installing

Installation is in reverse order of removal, note the following:

• Replace O-rings.

- Tighten front oil pipe bolts in the sequence - 1 to 3 -.

- Install ribbed belt => [ Ribbed Belt ] Ribbed Belt.

- Install lock carrier with attachments

- Install front bumper cover.

- Deactivate vehicle lifting mode.
