1 Sealing ring for crankshaft timing chain side
• Replace
• Removing and installing => [ Crankshaft Seal, Timing Chain Side, Replacing ] Service and Repair
2 Seals
• Replace
• Removing and installing => [ Seals for Threaded Studs, Replacing ] Service and Repair
3 20 Nm
4 10 Nm
• Observe tightening sequence => [ Set left timing chain cover in place and
fasten bolts as follows: ] Timing Chain Covers
5 9 Nm
• Insert using locking compound; locking compound.
6 Camshaft position (CMP) sensor 4 (G301)
• For exhaust camshaft cylinder bank 2 (left)
7 O-ring
• Replace
8 9 Nm
• Insert using locking compound; locking compound.
9 Camshaft position (CMP) sensor 2 (G163)
• For intake camshaft cylinder bank 2 (left)
10 O-ring
• Replace
11 10 Nm
• Observe tightening sequence => [ Set left timing chain cover in place and
fasten bolts as follows: ] Timing Chain Covers
12 Left timing chain cover
• After removal, replace cover with threaded fitting using a newer version without threaded fitting.
13 9 Nm
• Insert using locking compound; locking compound.
14 Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor (G40)
• For intake camshaft cylinder bank 1 (right)
15 O-ring
• Replace
16 10 Nm
• Observe tightening sequence => [ Set right timing chain cover in place
and fasten bolts as follows: ] Timing Chain Covers
17 Right timing chain cover
18 10 Nm
• Observe tightening sequence => [ Set right timing chain cover in place
and fasten bolts as follows: ] Timing Chain Covers
19 O-ring
• Replace
• Insert into timing chain cover => [ (Item 17) Right timing chain cover ]
20 O-ring
• Replace
21 Seal
22 Chain tensioner for right timing chain
• Tighten to 60 Nm.
23 Camshaft position (CMP) sensor 3 (G300)
• For exhaust camshaft cylinder bank 1 (right)
24 9 Nm
• Insert using locking compound; locking compound.
25 10 Nm
26 Lower timing chain cover
