Front Airbag Crash Sensor

Removal and installation are same for right and left.

Removal

CAUTION!
Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components.

- Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition switched on.

- Remove the headlamp.





CAUTION!
Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity ". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.

- Disconnect the electrical connector - 3 - by pressing the release on the connector toward the front airbag crash sensor.

- Remove the bolts - 2 -.

- Remove the front airbag crash sensor - 1 - from the upper impact member.

Installation

Installation is reverse of removal, but note the following:

CAUTION!
Follow the safety precautions for pyrotechnic components.

Before handling pyrotechnical components (for example, connecting electrical connector), the person handling them must "discharge static electricity ". For example, by briefly touching the door striker pin.

Ensure that electrical connections are pushed in as far as stop and engage with a click.

Make sure the wires are not pinched.

- Switch on ignition.

CAUTION!
Connect the battery with the ignition switched on. Pyrotechnic components could deploy after connecting the battery if they were not repaired correctly. Individuals must not be inside the vehicle when connecting the battery.

- Disconnect the battery ground wire with the ignition switched on.

If the Airbag Malfunction Indicator Lamp (Mil) (K75) indicates a fault after installation, check the DTC memory, erase it and check it again.
