Condenser Refrigerant Lines, Disconnecting and Connecting

Condenser Refrigerant Lines, Disconnecting and Connecting

Condenser is available in different versions, depending on version of vehicle. Refer to Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).

Refrigerant line from condenser to evaporator is available in different versions, depending on version of vehicle. In vehicles with parking heater, line outlet from connection on condenser may be shaped differently (so that it does not contact parking heater). Refer to Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).

Different component locations of High Pressure Sensor (G65) depending on engine, High Pressure Sensor (G65) in vehicles with 2.0 L Diesel engine is installed e.g. not on refrigerant line from expansion valve to condenser but rather on refrigerant line from compressor to condenser.

Removing

- Discharge the refrigerant circuit.

- Remove the noise insulation.

- Disconnect connector - A - from High Pressure Sensor (G65) - B -.

- Remove bolts - A - (tightening specification: 10 Nm).

- Disconnect refrigerant lines - B - and - C - from condenser.

Close open lines and connections on A/C compressor using suitable caps (to prevent possible penetration of dirt and moisture).

Installing

Installation is the reverse of removal, noting the following:

- Replace O-rings seals - D - and - E -. Refer to=> [ Refrigerant Circuit O-rings ] Refrigerant Circuit O-Rings and Electronic Parts Catalog.

- Check fitted pin - G - (not installed at all connections) and sleeve - H - for damage and proper seating.

Coat the O-ring seals lightly with refrigerant oil prior to installation. Refer to=> [ Refrigerant Circuit O-rings ] Refrigerant Circuit O-Rings.

Check the O-rings for proper seating within the groove - F - on the refrigerant line.

- Following attachment, check routing of refrigerant pipes. They must be inserted in holders provided and not make contact with other components.

- Evacuate and re-charge refrigerant circuit.

- Operate the A/C system after filling the refrigerant circuit. Refer to=> [ A/C System, Operating After Filling Refrigerant Circuit ] Procedures.

Note the information regarding operating the A/C system after filling.
