Front Information Display Control Head Control Module (J523), through 10.31.2008

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Protective Cap For Cable Connector (VAS 6223/9)

The Front Information Display Control Head Control Module is located behind the instrument panel.

- Turn off all electrical consumers.

- Remove the key.

- If control module is replaced, select "Replacement" function for appropriate control module in "Guided Fault Finding".

Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

Removing

- Remove the climate controls.

- Remove the CD changer (R41) from the instrument panel. Refer to => [ CD Changer (R41) through 10.31.2008 ] CD Changer (R41) Through 10.31.2008.

- Remove the screws - arrows - and remove the Front Information Display Control Head Control Module - 1 - in the direction of the - arrow - from the mount frame.






- Release and disconnect the connection for the MOST-Bus - 3 -.






- Connect the (VAS 6223/9) - 1 - to the connector for the MOST-Bus - 2 -.






- Loosen the ground connection - 2 -.






- Release and disconnect the connections - 1 - and - 4 - from the Front Information Display Control Head Control Module - 5 -.

- Rotate the Front Information Display Control Head Control Module control unit together with the bracket - 5 -.

- Remove the bolts - 3 - and remove Front Information Display Control Head Control Module - 2 - from the bracket - 1 -.






Installing

- Install in reverse order of removal.
