Retainer for Battery Switch-Off Relay or Battery Interrupt Igniter

Removing

• When installing, reinstall all cable ties that were loosened or cut during removal in the same locations.

- Remove battery, refer to => [ Battery ] Battery.

- Release clasps - arrows - and open flap - 1 -.





Vehicles up to Approximately 06.2004:

- Remove nuts - 1 - and - 3 - at positive cables.





- Remove battery switch-off relay (J655) - 2 - from retainer.

• Disregard item - 4 -.

Vehicles as of 07.2004:

- Remove nuts - 1 - and - 3 - at positive cables.





- Remove battery interrupt igniter (N253) - 2 - from retainer.

• Ignore - 4 - and - 5 -.

All:

- Remove nuts - 3 - and - 4 -.





- Cut cable tie - 1 - and remove retainer - 2 - from body.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal, observing the following:

• When installing, install cable ties at same location.

- Install battery => [ Installing ] Battery.
