Shock Absorber, Coil Spring

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Torque wrench (V.A.G 1331)

Torque wrench (V.A.G 1332)

Engine/transmission jack (V.A.G 1383 A)

Wheel hub support (T10149)

Removing

- Remove the wheel.

- If the vehicle has Dynamic Ride Control (DRC), disconnect the connector - 6 - on the shock absorber, remove it from the bracket and bleed the system. Refer to => [ Dynamic Ride Control (DRC), Draining and Filling ] Dynamic Ride Control (DRC), Draining and Filling. Remove the union nut - 5 - and free up the hose line - 9 -.






- Turn the wheel hub up until a wheel bold hole is on top.

- Install (T10149) with wheel bolt - arrow -.






- Insert (T10149) in (V.A.G 1383 A) and raise wheel housing bearing approximately 5 cm.

- Remove the bolt - 1 -.






- Remove the threaded connections - 2 - and pull the wheel housing liner to the side.






- Remove the hex bolts - 1 -.

- Remove shock absorber.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- If the vehicle has Dynamic Ride Control (DRC), connect the connector on the shock absorber, mount it in the bracket and fill the system. Refer to => [ Dynamic Ride Control (DRC), Draining and Filling ] Dynamic Ride Control (DRC), Draining and Filling.
