Knock Sensor: Service and Repair

Knock Sensors (G61)/(G66)

Removing

- Remove the left or right intake manifold lower section. Refer to => [ Intake Manifold Lower Section with Fuel Rail ] Intake Manifold Lower Section with Fuel Rail.

- Disconnect the connector - 1 - for knock sensor 1 (G61) from the right bracket.






• Ignore - 2 - and - arrow -.

- Disconnect the connector - 2 - for knock sensor 2 (G66) from the left bracket.






• Ignore - 1, 3 - and - arrows -.

- Remove the bolt - 1 - from knock sensor 1 (G61) or the bolt - 2 - from knock sensor 2 (G66) and then remove the knock sensor.






Installing

• Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Ignition Overview ] Ignition Overview.

Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:

- Install the lower intake manifold section. Refer to => [ Intake Manifold Lower Section with Fuel Rail ] Intake Manifold Lower Section with Fuel Rail.
