Transmission Mounting and Transmission Support

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

• Engine/Transmission Jack (V.A.G 1383 A)

• Wooden block

Removing

- Remove front and rear noise insulation by loosening fasteners - 2 - and, if equipped, - arrow -.





Vehicles equipped with double pipe exhaust:

- Remove front exhaust pipe rear bracket by removing bolts - 1 to 3 -.





Continuation for all vehicles:

- Place plunger of Engine/Transmission Jack (V.A.G 1383 A) with a block of wood - 1 - inserted in between on transmission at bottom.





- Raise transmission slightly using Engine/Transmission Jack (V.A.G 1383 A).

- Remove tunnel crossmember bolts - arrows -.





- Remove bolts - 1 - and - 2 - and slide tunnel crossmember back slightly.





- Remove transmission mounting between transmission and tunnel crossmember.

- Remove bolts - 2 - and remove transmission support - 1 - from transmission.





Installing

Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:

Vehicles equipped with double pipe exhaust:

- Install bracket for front exhaust pipes.
