Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor
Removing
• Engine cold.
- Briefly open the coolant reservoir cap to reduce the residual pressure in the coolant system.
- Loosen the hose clamps - arrows - and remove the air guide tube.
• Ignore - 1 -.
- Disconnect electrical connector - 1 - on throttle valve control module (J338).
- Remove the bolts - arrows - and the throttle valve control module.
- Remove the intake manifold support; to do so, remove the nut - 2 - and bolt - 1 -.
• Different engine coolant temperature sensor (G62) may be installed, depending on the version.
Inserted Version
- Disconnect the connector - 1 - from the engine coolant temperature sensor.
• Lay a cloth below to catch escaping coolant.
- Remove the clamp, to do so, press the latches - arrow -.
- Remove the engine coolant temperature sensor - 2 -.
Threaded Version
- Disconnect the connector - 2 - from the engine coolant temperature sensor.
• Lay a cloth below to catch escaping coolant.
- Remove the bolts - arrows - and the retaining plate - 1 -.
- Remove the engine coolant temperature sensor.
Installing
• Tightening specifications, refer to => [ Coolant Pump and Thermostat Overview ] Coolant Pump and Thermostat Overview.
Installation is performed in reverse order of removal, noting the following:
• Replace O-rings.
• To prevent coolant loss, install the engine coolant temperature sensor immediately.
• The hose connections as well as the air guide pipes and hoses must be free of oil and grease before installing.
• Secure all hose connections with hose clamps appropriate for the model. Refer to the electronic parts catalog ETKA.
• In order to be able to securely mount the air guide hoses on their connectors, spray the screws on the previously used clamps with a rust remover.
- Install the intake manifold support.
- Install the throttle valve control module.
- Check coolant level => [ Check coolant level. ] Service and Repair.
