Fuel Pressure Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair
Fuel Pressure Sensor (G247)
If the fuel pressure sensor should fail, the fuel pressure regulator valve (N276) will switch off, the electric fuel pump is completely controlled and the engine will be driven by the fuel pressure present. This will reduce the engine torque dramatically.
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Assembly Tool (T10118)
• Socket 27 mm (T40218) or a commercially available 27 mm socket
Removing
- Remove the engine cover.
Fuel system is under pressure! Fuel pressure must be reduced to a residual pressure before opening high pressure area of injection system. Refer to => [ Releasing Pressure in High Pressure Area ] Releasing Pressure In High Pressure Area.
- Remove the coolant line bolt - arrow - from the intake manifold.
- Disconnect the connector from the fuel pressure sensor using (T10118).
- Remove the fuel pressure sensor using (T40218).
Installing
- Install in reverse order of removal.
- Check the connection tightening specification before installing the fuel pressure sensor.
