External Audio Source Connection (R199)
Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required
• Radio Removal Tool (T10057)
• Fiber Optic Pliers Repair Set (VAS 6223)
• Protective Cap For Cable Connector (VAS 6223/9)
The external audio source connection is located inside the glove compartment.
- Turn off all electrical consumers.
- Remove the key.
Removing
- Open the glove compartment.
- Insert the two clips of the (T10057) into the slits on the external audio source connection until they engage. Points on the grip eyelets of tool face outward.
- Pull the external audio source connection out of mounting frame.
- Disconnect all of the connectors from the external audio source connection.
Versions with MOST bus
- Connect the (VAS 6223/9) - 1 - to the connector for the MOST-Bus - 2 -.
All
- Remove the (T10057) , push locking tabs on the external audio source connection to do so.
Remove the internal control unit
- Remove the screw - 2 - on back side (2 Nm).
- Press the tabs - 4 - and - 5 - down and up and remove the control module - 5 - back from the frame - 1 -.
Installing
- Connect all harness connectors.
- Slide the external audio source connection on the mounting frame until it engages.
