Center Console

Removing






- Remove the center console insert. Refer to => [ Center Console Insert ] Center Console Insert.

- Remove the front ashtray/storage compartment. Refer to => [ Front Ashtray/Storage Compartment ] Front Ashtray/Storage Compartment.

- Remove the center console rear cover. Refer to => [ Center Console Rear Cover ] Center Console Rear Cover.

- Vehicles with a front center armrest: remove the front center armrest. Refer to => [ Front Center Armrest ] Front Center Armrest.

- Vehicles with a telephone baseplate (R126) : disconnect the connectors and free up the wires.

- Vehicles with an external audio source connection (R199) : remove the external audio source connection (R199).

- Vehicles with a 12V outlet: disconnect the connector - 2 -.

- Remove the bolts - 1 - and - 3 -.

- Remove the nuts - 1 - from the center console bracket.






Vehicles without a center armrest: remove the 2 nuts.

- Lift the center console and remove it back out of the instrument panel and over the selector lever/shift lever.

Installation

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Set the center console in place and guide the electrical connectors through the opening in the center console.
