A/C Compressor With Connected Refrigerant Lines

A/C Compressor With Connected Refrigerant Lines

Removal

- Remove the noise insulation - 1 -.

- Disconnect the electrical connector - A -.

- Remove the bolts - B - and remove the A/C compressor.

Risk of damaging refrigerant lines and hoses.

Do not stretch, kink or bend refrigerant lines and hoses.

- Use wire to connect the A/C compressor to the lock carrier.

If the A/C compressor cannot be swiveled away enough from the engine, the A/C compressor must be removed, refer to => [ A/C Compressor ] A/C Compressor.

Installation

Installation is done is reverse order, observe the following:

Tightening specification, refer to=> [ Refrigerant Lines, Condenser, Expansion Valve, A/C Compressor Overview ] Refrigerant Lines, Condenser, Expansion Valve, A/C Compressor Overview.

- Thoroughly clean the contact surfaces - C - of the A/C compressor.

- Install the alignment sleeves - A - in the A/C compressor - B -.

Different versions of the alignment sleeves (different lengths) are available. Refer to Electronic Parts Catalog (ETKA).

Make sure the alignment sleeves are seated correctly and the contact surfaces are clean. Alignment sleeves that are installed incorrectly and dirty or damaged contact surfaces can lead to alignment irregularities between the compressor and engine. Alignment irregularities will result in damage to the A/C compressor over time.

After fastening the A/C compressor, check the installation position of the refrigerant lines. The lines must be engaged in the provided brackets (if installed, depending on the engine).

Check the refrigerant lines and the corresponding brackets to ensure that there is enough distance with respect to the other components. Ensure that there is also enough distance between the belts, bracket and belt pulley.

- Install the ribbed belt.

After completion of the repair work, perform the following work on the control head using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function:

- Read out the event memory and erase any displayed entries.
