Relay Panel Under Left Instrument Panel

Special tools, testers and auxiliary items required

Protective Cap For Cable Connector (VAS 6223/9) from Fiber Optic Plier Repair Set (VAS 6223)

Removing






- Remove the driver side footwell vent.

- Disconnect the electric wires - 1 and 2 - from the relay panel.

- Release the spring - 4 - and remove the relay panel - 6 - downward.

- Disconnect the connector - 5 - if applicable.

- Disconnect the fiber optic cable connector - 3 - and free it up.

- Seal open wiring harness fiber optic connector - 2 - with (VAS 6223/9) - item 1 -.






Protective cap prevents contamination of or mechanical damage to end face of fiber optic cable which would impair signal transmission.

- Release the tab - arrow - and remove fuse panel D - 2 - from the relay panel - 1 - toward the rear.






- Open the clip and remove the auxiliary fuse panel - 2 -.






- Open the clips - arrows - and remove the relay - 1 - and the control modules from the relay panels.

- Release the retainers - arrows - and remove the relay panel - 2 - from the relay/fuse panel - 1 - to the rear.






Check the exact connector assignment in the current wiring diagram.

Installing

Tightening specification, refer to => [ Tightening Specification
For The Relay Panel Under The Instrument Panel On The Left Side With
A Threaded Connection ] Relay Carrier and Fuse Panel In Instrument Panel and A-Pillar Overview.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

- Install the driver side instrument panel cover.
