Module Carrier with Air Cushions for Lumbar Support

• The following describes removing and installing a multicontour seat with massage. The procedure for removing and installing is similar to the other versions.

Removing






- Remove the backrest cover. Refer to => [ Backrest Cover ] Backrest Cover.

- Vehicles with backrest blower fan: Remove backrest blower fan. Refer to => [ Backrest Blower Fan V388/V389 ] Backrest Blower Fan V388/V389.

- Disconnect harness connector - 5 - and free up electrical wire at the module carrier.

- Push front multi-contour seat control module - 3 - up slightly for the detachment at the module carrier - arrow -.

• Ignore - 1, 2 and 4 -.

- Disconnect pneumatic lines to the lumbar support air cushions at the following points. Refer to => [ Pneumatic Lines Disconnecting and Connecting ] Pneumatic Lines Disconnecting and Connecting:






a 40 mm
b 40 mm
c 40 mm

- Set aside the multi-contour front seat control module together with the remaining connected pneumatic lines.

• Original replacement parts are delivered with short sections of line to which pneumatic lines with line connectors are connected.

• Before disconnecting the pneumatic lines, transfer the length of the sections of line from the original spare part to the part to be removed and disconnect at exactly this point.

- Disconnect the connector - 3 -.






- Push massage mat valve block - 4 - up slightly for the detachment at the module carrier - arrow -.

- Set aside massage mat valve block together with connected pneumatic lines - 1 - and - 2 -.

- Repeat the procedure on the opposite side of the backrest.

- Cut cable ties, free up wiring harness and free up pneumatic lines on the lumbar support module carrier.

- If installed, free up rubber boot - 2 - on the lumbar support module carrier.






- Detach backrest cover from backrest frame in the area of the bolting and remove bolt - 1 -.

- Pull module carrier - 3 - with air cushions for lumbar support up out of the headrest frame to detach - arrows - and pull back to remove.

Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
