Compressor Rear Multi-contour Seat Compressor V441/V442

Driver multicontour seat compressor (V441) / front passenger multicontour seat compressor (V442)

Removing

• Follow all safety precautions when working on pyrotechnic components. Refer to => [ Restraint System Components, Safety Precautions and Testing Procedures ] Description and Operation.

• Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.

- Remove the rear seat backrest. Refer to => [ Lower Seat Frame/Rear Seat Backrest ] Lower Seat Frame/Rear Seat Backrest.

- Disconnect the connector - 3 -.






- Carefully release latch - arrow -, remove pneumatic line - 1 - from the compressor - 2 -.

- Free up pneumatic line to the compressor.

- Remove the nuts - arrows - and compressor.






Installing

• Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, connecting the electrical connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.

• Observe all measures when installing the rear seat. Refer to => [ Lower Seat Frame/Rear Seat Backrest ] Lower Seat Frame/Rear Seat Backrest.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

• The rubber-metal compress mount must not be installed under tension or twisted.

• Therefore, brace the metal plate of the rubber-metal mount with pliers while the nut is tightened. Do not damage rubber-metal mount while doing so.
