TDI (SCR) vehicles
• After the ignition is switched off, the reducing agent goes from the metering line to the reducing agent injector (N474) and back into the reducing agent active chamber.
• Wait until all the reducing agent has been returned before working in this area. This could take up to 10 minutes after switching off the ignition.
• Only after this is complete can the battery be disconnected. Again, this could take up to 10 minutes after switching off the ignition.
Removing
- Switch off ignition and remove ignition key.
- Remove the spare wheel well trim..
- Open the cover - 6 - over the battery negative terminal.
- Loosen the nut several turns and remove the ground cable - 1 - from the battery terminal.
- Disconnect the electrical connector - 2 -.
- Cut the cable ties - arrow -.
- Remove the screw - 4 - and remove the ground cable - 5 - and Battery monitoring control module (J367) - 3 -.
Installing
• Tightening specifications. Refer to=> [ Battery Overview ] Battery Overview.
Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:
- Install the spare wheel well trim..
- Connect the battery, refer to=> [ Connecting ] Battery, Disconnecting and Connecting.
