Defect code 04:

•D• 900 Defect code memory: 04 Idle speed actuator (open):

Explanation: This defect code is stored when breaks or shorts occur at the idle speed actuator or on its supply wires (voltage supply and control lines). If the defect code 22 idle speed actuator (close) is also stored, then this is attributed to the link of both windings in the idle speed actuator.

Note: Defect codes 04 and 22 are also stored when engine operation is interrupted abruptly without the ignition being switched off beforehand. Such a defect is indicated by the operating status during defect code detection. This defect code can be ignored at an engine speed below 600 rpm.
