Defect code 101:

Malfunction: Engine operation not possible:

Prerequisites for troubleshooting:

- Start system OK. (battery charged, ignition switch and starter OK....)
- Ground connection at battery, engine and body OK.
- Specified type of fuel in tank
- Engine OK. mechanically (timing, compression,...)

Troubleshooting:

a) Check voltage supply for DME control unit in accordance with schematic.

b) Check input signals.

- Check engine speed signal at start speed •D• 200.
- Check air mass meter signals •D• 200.

c) Check output signals.

- Activation of fuel pump relay in accordance with schematic.
- Ignition output stage with MOTORTEST, test step 09.
- Injector valves with •D• 300.

d) Fuel pressure test.

e) Check EML for defects.
