Defect Codes 01-06

*D* Defect code memory: Pin contact defective

Explanation:

Two inputs are provided for each pin contact at the module. The command lock or unlock is performed only when different levels are applied at both inputs.

A defect code is stored if the same level (12v or 0v) is applied at both inputs.

Troubleshooting

The pin contacts can be checked in *D* test procedure (BMW MoDIC *D* status monitoring).

Check in the case of fault:

Break displayed:

- Is B+ for pin contacts OK. (fuse, wire)?

- Has wire from pin contact to ZVM a break?

- Is pin contact in ZV motor drive OK.?

Short to B+ displayed:

- Has one of the wires from the pin contact to the ZVM a short to B+?

If display does not change:

- Is mechanical system OK. (linkage detached)?

- Is ZV motor drive OK. (check by means of *D*, test procedure, activate ZV motor drives)

- Is pin contact in ZV motor drive OK.?

Note: This defect code is also stored when the ZV motor drive does not reach the positions unlock or lock due to a mechanical fault.
