Removing and Installing/Replacing Condenser for A/C System




64 53 551 - Removing and installing or replacing condenser for A/C system





Warning!
Risk of injury!
Refrigerant circuit is under high pressure!
Follow safety instructions for handling R 134a refrigerant.
Avoid contact with refrigerant and refrigerant oil.
Follow safety instructions for handling refrigerant oil.





Important!
Risk of damage!
Restart engine only when A/C system has been correctly filled.
Follow instructions Instructions for Handling Refrigerant Oil (for Refrigerant R 134a) for opening and replacing parts in refrigerant circuit!
If A/C system is opened for more than 24 hours:Replace desiccant insert for A/C system Removal and Replacement





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Drawing off, evacuating and filling the A/C system Replacing Desiccant Insert for A/C System (Automatic A/C High) are not included in the time value given for this work operation





Release screws and remove center front panel (1).





Release screws on radiator cover (2).





Unclip vent line (1) from fixtures.
Unclip retaining clip (2) and plug (3).
Lay auxiliary cable (4) to one side.
Remove radiator cover.





Unlock catch (1) and disconnect plug connection (2).





Release screws (1).
Tightening torque 64 53 1AZ Condenser.
Remove lines (2) in direction of arrow.
Replace all sealing rings and moisten with refrigerant oil.





Pull out condenser (1).





After installation:
- Evacuate and fill A/C system Drawing off, Evacuating and Filling A/C System (R 134a)
