51 16 211 - Removing and installing/replacing finisher for storage tray





Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Remove knob for controller Replacing Knob for Controller
- Remove button unit Removing and Installing/Replacing Button Unit (for On-Board Monitor)
Version with manual transmission:
- Remove gaiter Replacing Gaiter (Shift Lever Cover) for Shift Lever for gear lever
Version with automatic transmission or SMG:
- Remove finisher for preselector lever 51 16 210 - Removing and installing/replacing trim for preselector lever (up to 03/07)





If necessary, remove ashtray insert.
Release screws (1).
Open center console cover.
Press release button for center console cover and release trim (2) from catches (4).
Feed trim (2) towards top/rear out of storage compartment (3).
If necessary, disconnect plug connections on insert at front.
Security version:
Disconnect plug connection on intercom system switch Removing and Installing/Replacing Intercom System Switch (Security).





Installation:
Following parts of trim (4) must not be damaged or missing:
1 - Front insert
2 - Retaining lugs
3 - Pins or spring clips

Replacement:
Remove front insert (1) 51 16 ... - Removing and installing/replacing front insert (on storage compartment trim).
Replacement with Security version:
Remove intercom system switch Removing and Installing/Replacing Intercom System Switch (Security).
