Removing and Installing/Replacing Left or Right Rear Light

63 21 180 - Removing and installing/replacing left or right rear light





Important!

Necessary preliminary tasks:
- Partially remove luggage compartment wheel arch trim
- Remove socket housing for rear light Replacing a Socket Housing for Left or Right Rear Light
- Remove bulb holder Replacing a Socket Housing for Left or Right Rear Light for brake/tail light





Release nuts (1, 3, 5), gripping the threaded pin (2) with a suitable tool in so doing. Tightening torque 63 21 1AZ Specifications.
Remove rear light (6) in outward direction from rear light base (4).

Installation Note:
- Observe tightening sequence:
1. Tighten nut (1)
2. Tighten nut (3)
3. Tighten nut (5)
- Ensure fitting of sealing washers on outer threaded pins (2) between rear light (6) and rear light base (4)
- Make sure sealing frame for rear light [1][2]63 21 101 Replacing Sealing Frame for Left or Right Rear Light is correctly seated on rear light (6)
- Make sure gap (outer) is uniform all round between rear light (6) and side panel.
