SIR Diagnostic System Check

Diagnostic System Check - Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System:

CAUTION:
^ USE ONLY J 34029A DVOM AND TEST PROBES FROM J 35616-A CONNECTOR TEST ADAPTER KIT WHEN TROUBLESHOOTING SIR SYSTEM. DO NOT USE ANY OTHER TYPE OF TEST EQUIPMENT. MIS-DIAGNOSIS OR PERSONAL INJURY MAY RESULT FROM USE OF OTHER TYPES OF TEST EQUIPMENT.

^ SIR SYSTEM WIRING MUST BE REPAIRED ONLY AS SHOWN IN SIR SYSTEM WIRING REPAIR PROCEDURES. DO NOT REPAIR SIR WIRING IN ANY OTHER WAY. FAILURE TO FOLLOW THESE PROCEDURES MAY RESULT IN PERSONAL INJURY OR SIR SYSTEM FAILURE.

Diagnosis of SIR System is as follows:
1. Perform "Diagnostic System Check."
^ "Diagnostic System Check" refers to a diagnostic chart.
^ The charts are listed In alphabetical order and begin after the "Diagnostic System Check."

2. Follow procedures in the tests until fault Is Isolated.

3. Refer to Removal and Installation (R&I) procedures to make repair.

4. After any repair restore system, clear diagnostic trouble codes, and repeat "Diagnostic System Check."
