SC9K-9 Doors Do Not Unlock With Ignition Switch In "RUN"

DOORS DO NOT UNLOCK WITH IGNITION SWITCH IN "RUN" AND TRANSMISSION IS SHIFTED TO "PARK"

SC9K-9:

Circuit Description

When the transmission is shifted into "PARK," voltage is applied to the keyless entry receiver on CKT 275. When the keyless entry receiver senses voltage on CKT 39 (ignition switch in "RUN") and voltage on CKT 275, the keyless entry receiver applies voltage to CKT 194. The power door lock relay is energized to actuate the door lock motors and unlock all doors.

Test Description

Number(s) below refer to circled number(s) on the diagnostic chart.

1. Isolate a power door lock system fault or keyless entry system fault.
2. Isolate a keyless entry system functional failure.
3. Checks for short to voltage on CKT 275 when transmission is in "DRIVE."
4. Checks for proper operation of transmission position switch.

Diagnostic Aids

Remote keyless entry receiver must receive voltage on CKT 39 when ignition is "ON" for auto door locks to work. Doors must be shut for normal operation of auto lock feature. (Courtesy lights "OFF.")
