The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.
3. This step checks to see that the door module associated with the inoperative window recognizes the switch input.
Enabling the headlamps in this step eliminates the possibility of the window switch using an alternative path to ground through the switch illumination circuit, which could cause the scan tool to display incorrect window switch states.
4. This step determines if the Express Down function of the window switch, if applicable, has failed.
5. This step eliminates the battery positive voltage and ground circuits associated with door module connector C3 for the front passenger door, or, associated with door module connector C2 for a rear door as the cause.
9. This step eliminates the window switch as the cause of the malfunction.
14. This step eliminates the switch ground circuit as the cause.
15. This step eliminates the switch Up or Down signal circuits as the cause.
