B0807

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The courtesy lamps supply voltage circuit acts as both of the following components:
^ An input
^ An output

When one of several switches provides a ground to the courtesy lamps supply voltage circuit through the lamp and its switched ground circuit, the circuit acts as an input. The ground causes the BCM to wake up.

This provides the following functions:
^ An output.
^ Voltage to the courtesy lamps through the courtesy lamps supply voltage circuit.

When the BCM detects a short to ground on the courtesy lamps supply voltage circuit DTC B0807 will set.

When the BCM battery positive voltage circuit is open DTC B0807 will set.

CONDITIONS FOR SETTING THE DTC
^ The BCM detects a short to ground in the courtesy lamps supply voltage circuit.
^ The BCM may only test for this condition when the body control module (BCM) attempts to activate the courtesy lamps.
^ The condition is present for more than 0.1 seconds.
^ The BCM battery positive voltage circuit which includes the SBM fuse, is open.

ACTION TAKEN WHEN THE DTC SETS
^ DTC B0807 stores in the BCM memory.
^ No driver warning message displays for this DTC.

CONDITIONS FOR CLEARING THE DTC
^ Under all fault conditions, cycle the ignition before changing the DTC from current to history.
^ The BCM no longer detects a short to ground.
^ The BCM battery positive voltage circuit is no longer open.
^ A history DTC will clear after 50 consecutive ignition cycles if the condition for the malfunction is no longer present.

TEST DESCRIPTION

Steps 1-6:

The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.
2. This step tests for a short to ground in the courtesy lamps supply voltage circuit. A short to ground in the courtesy lamps supply voltage circuit may cause the SBM fuse in the fuse block - IP to open.
3. This step tests for a short to ground or an open circuit in the battery positive voltage circuit of the body control module (BCM).
