Console Replacement - Front Floor

Removal Procedure

1. Apply the parking brake.
2. Position the transaxle shift lever to the LOW position.
3. Remove the floor console trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Console Front (Trim Plate Replacement - Console Front) .




4. Remove the rear compartment mat.




5. Remove the rear compartment bolts.
6. Remove the bracket bolts rearward of the transaxle shift lever.




7. Remove the horizontal bolts near the instrument panel (I/P).
8. Remove the power accessory port. Refer to Accessory Power Receptacle Replacement - Floor Console in Power Outlets.
9. Remove the floor console lighter. Refer to Cigar Lighter Housing Replacement - Floor Console in Power Outlets.




10. Disconnect the wiring harness from the floor console.




11. Pull the floor console rearward in order to release the retainers from the I/P.




12. Depress the front edge of the shifter trim plate in order to pull back the floor console for removal.
13. Remove the floor console from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure





1. Position the floor console to the vehicle.
2. Connect the electrical connectors to the floor console.
3. Align the floor console over the transaxle shifter and position the floor console retainers to the I/P.




4. Push the floor console forward into the retainers in the I/P until fully seated.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

5. Install the horizontal bolts near the I/P.

Tighten the bolts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).





6. Install the bracket bolts at the rear of the transaxle shifter lever.

Tighten the bolts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

7. Install the rear compartment bolts.

Tighten the bolts to 5 N.m (44 lb in).





8. Install the rear compartment mat.
9. Install the floor console trim plate. Refer to Trim Plate Replacement - Console Front (Trim Plate Replacement - Console Front) .
10. Install the power accessory port. Refer to Accessory Power Receptacle Replacement - Floor Console in Power Outlets.
11. Install the floor console lighter. Refer to Cigar Lighter Housing Replacement - Floor Console in Power Outlets.
12. Reposition the transaxle shift lever to the PARK position.
13. Release the parking brake.
