Hinge Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the rear compartment lid. Refer to Compartment Lid Replacement - Rear (Service and Repair) .
2. Remove the rear shelf trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Window Shelf (Service and Repair) in Interior Trim.
3. Remove the torque rods (1) from the hinge (2). Refer to Torque Rod Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid (Service and Repair) .




4. Remove the following components from the vehicle:

* The nuts
* The bolts

5. Remove the hinge from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the hinge (2) to the vehicle.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the following components to the vehicle:

* The nuts
* The bolts

Tighten the nuts and bolts to 24 N.m (18 lb ft).






3. Install the torque rods (1) to the hinge. Refer to Torque Rod Replacement - Rear Compartment Lid (Service and Repair) .
4. Install the rear shelf trim panel. Refer to Trim Panel Replacement - Rear Window Shelf (Service and Repair) in Interior Trim.
5. Install the rear compartment lid.
6. Adjust the rear compartment lid as necessary.
