Rear Door Window Regulator: Service and Repair



Rear Side Door Window Regulator Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the rear door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the rear door water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair).

Notice: Refer to Paint Damage Notice.




3. Raise the window far enough in order to gain access through the inner door panel to the window guide retainer clips.
4. Push inward on the window guide retainer clip locks, lift upward on the window until released from the retaining clip.
5. Raise the window to the full up position and tape in place.
6. Disconnect the electrical connector from the power window motor.




7. Loosen the bolt to the window regulator motor (2, 3, 4).
8. Lift the motor free of the retaining slot.
9. Remove the window regulator and motor from the door.
10. Remove the power window motor from the window regulator. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Regulator Motor Replacement (Service and Repair).

Installation Procedure

1. Install the power window motor to the window regulator. Refer to Rear Side Door Window Regulator Motor Replacement (Service and Repair).




2. Install the bolts (2, 3, 4) to the window regulator and motor.
3. Position the window regulator and motor into the locating slots of the inner door panel.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

4. Install the window regulator and motor bolts to the door.

Tighten the bolts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

5. Connect the electrical connector to the power window motor.
6. Remove the masking tape.




7. Lower the window far enough in order to gain access through the inner door panel to the window guide retainer clips.
8. Inspect the window for proper operation and programming. Refer to Window Regulator Motor Programming and Setup (Programming and Relearning).
9. Install the rear door water deflector. Refer to Rear Side Door Water Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair).
10. Install the rear door trim panel. Refer to Rear Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
