DTC Descriptor
DTC C0131 00
- ABS Pressure Circuit
Circuit/System Description
The electronic brake control module (EBCM) uses input from the brake pressure sensor for more accurate control during a vehicle stability enhancement system (VSES) event.
Conditions for Running the DTC
* Ignition ON.
* Ignition voltage is greater than 8 volts.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
* Brake signal does not correlate to pressure signal.
* Signal is erratic and changes faster than physically allowed.
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
* The Traction Control indicator illuminates.
* The driver information center (DIC) displays Service Stability System.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
* The condition for setting the DTC is no longer present.
* The EBCM clears the history DTC when a current DTC is not detected in 100 consecutive drive cycles.
Diagnostic Aids
The brake fluid pressure sensor is integral to the BPMV/EBCM. The brake fluid pressure sensor is not serviceable.

Circuit/System Verification
1. Verify that DTC C0277, C0297, or B3445 is not set.
• If any of the DTCs are set, Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) List - Vehicle (Diagnostic Trouble Code Descriptions).
2. Ignition ON, observe the scan tool BPP parameter while applying and releasing the brake pedal. The reading should change between Applied and Released.
• If the parameter does not change between applied and release, replace the BPMV and verify DTC does not reset. If DTC reset, replace the EBCM.
Repair Instructions
Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification (Verification Tests) after completing the diagnostic procedure.
* Brake Pressure Modulator Valve Replacement (Service and Repair).
* Control Module References (Programming and Relearning) for EBCM setup, replacement, and programming
