Transmission Fluid Filler Tube and Seal Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the fluid indicator.




2. Remove the fluid filler tube bracket bolt from the fluid filler tube bracket.
3. Remove the fluid filler tube.
4. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
5. Remove filler tube seal.


Installation Procedure




1. Install the fluid filler tube seal in the transaxle.
2. Apply some DEXRON(R) VI fluid or equivalent to the inside diameter of the seal.
3. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
4. Position the fluid filler tube into the transaxle.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice).

5. Install the fluid filler tube bracket bolt through the fluid filler tube bracket.

Tighten the fluid filler tube bracket bolt to 9 N.m (79 lb in).

6. Install the indicator.
7. Fill the transaxle to the proper level. Refer to Transmission Fluid Check (4T65-E Automatic Transaxle).
8. Inspect for fluid leaks.
