Intake Manifold Replacement




Intake Manifold Replacement (LF1)

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (Intake Manifold Cover Replacement)




2. Disconnect and remove the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) tube (1) from the intake manifold and right camshaft cover.




3. Remove the evaporative emission (EVAP) hose from the intake manifold and EVAP solenoid.




4. Remove the fuel pump cover bolt (1) and Retaomers.
5. Remove the fuel pump cover (2).
6. Remove The Fuel line booster hose bracket
7. Disconnect the brake booster vacuum hose
8. Disconnect electrical connecters as needed
9. Remove engine coolant air bleed pipe. Refer to Engine Coolant Air Bleed Pipe Replacement (V6) (Service and Repair)




10. Remove the intake manifold bolts (1).
11. Remove the intake manifold assembly (2).




12. Remove and discard the intake manifold gasket (1).
13. Transfer parts as needed

Installation Procedure




1. Install the NEW intake manifold gasket (1).




2. Install the intake manifold assembly (2).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution)

3. Install the intake manifold bolts (1).

Intake Tightening Sequence (LF1 or LFW):




4. Tighten the intake manifold bolts in the sequence shown.
5. Tighten the intake manifold bolts in sequence to 23 Nm (17 lb ft).
6. Tighten the intake manifold bolts a second pass in sequence to 23 Nm (17 lb ft).




7. Install the fuel pump cover (2).
8. Install the fuel pump cover bolt (1) and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).




9. Connect the EVAP hose to the upper intake manifold and EVAP solenoid.




10. Connect the PCV tube assembly (1) to the upper intake manifold and the right camshaft cover.
11. Install coolant hose.
12. Install intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement (Intake Manifold Cover Replacement)
