Exhaust Manifold Heat Shield Replacement - Right Side (LLT)

Removal Procedure




Warning: Refer to Hot Exhaust System Warning (Hot Exhaust System Warning)

1. Disconnect the bank 1 sensor 1 heated oxygen sensor (HO2S). Refer to Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Bank 1 Sensor 1 (LF1) (Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Bank 1 Sensor 1)Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Bank 1 Sensor 1 (LLT) (Heated Oxygen Sensor Replacement - Bank 1 Sensor 1).
2. Raise the vehicle to an appropriate height to reach the heat shield bolts. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts.

Note: It may be necessary to gently pull down on the catalytic converter in order to remove the heat shield.

4. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield.

Installation Procedure





Note: It may be necessary to gently pull down on the catalytic converter in order to install the heat shield.

1. Install and position the exhaust manifold heat shield onto the exhaust manifold.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the exhaust manifold heat shield bolts.Tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
3. Connect the bank 1 sensor 1 HO2S.
