Engine Coolant Thermostat Housing Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement Intake Manifold Cover Replacement.
2. Remove the engine coolant thermostat housing. Refer to Engine Coolant Thermostat Replacement Service and Repair.
3. Remove the heater inlet hose from the thermostat housing and reposition. Refer to Heater Inlet Hose Replacement Heater Inlet Hose Replacement.
4. Remove the heater outlet hose from the thermostat housing and reposition. Refer to Heater Outlet Hose Replacement Heater Outlet Hose Replacement.
5. Remove the engine coolant temperature sensor from the thermostat housing. Refer to Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement Service and Repair.
Note: Ensure that the radiator outlet pipe (2) does not fall down.
6. Remove the 3 thermostat housing bolts (3) and the thermostat housing (1).
Installation Procedure
1. Install the thermostat housing (1) to the radiator outlet pipe (2).
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution Fastener Caution.
2. Install the 3 thermostat housing bolts (3) and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
3. Install the heater inlet hose to the thermostat housing. Refer to Heater Inlet Hose Replacement Heater Inlet Hose Replacement.
4. Install the heater outlet hose to the thermostat housing. Refer to Heater Outlet Hose Replacement Heater Outlet Hose Replacement.
5. Install the engine coolant thermostat to the thermostat housing. Refer to Engine Coolant Thermostat Replacement Service and Repair.
6. Install the engine coolant temperature sensor to the thermostat housing. Refer to Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement Service and Repair.
7. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement Intake Manifold Cover Replacement.
