Fuel Tank Draining
Special Tools
CH-45004 - Fuel Tank Drain Hose

Warning
Never drain or store fuel in an open container. Always use an approved fuel storage container in order to reduce the chance of fire or explosion.
Warning
Place a dry chemical (Class B) fire extinguisher nearby before performing any on-vehicle service procedures. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury.
Warning
Always wear safety goggles when working with fuel in order to protect the eyes from fuel splash.
1. Open the hood.
2. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
3. Remove the fuel fill cap.
4. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Standard) Service and Repair.
5. Remove the fuel tank filler pipe from the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Filler Pipe Replacement Service and Repair.
6. Insert the CH-45004 - drain hose into the fuel tank until the hose reaches the bottom of the fuel tank.
7. Use an hand or air operated pump device in order to drain as much fuel as possible.
