Antilock Braking System (ABS)

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The EBTCM performs various diagnostic checks on itself. If it finds a problem, Code 71 will set.

TEST CONDITION(S)
1. Tested continuously.

FAILURE CONDITION(S)
1. While Standing or Driving: EBTCM internal error is detected.

ACTION TAKEN
1. Code set.
2. ABS and TCS switched "OFF."
3. Red BRAKE warning lamp ON.
4. ABS and TCS "DISABLED" messages ON.

TEST DESCRIPTION
Test numbers refer to circled numbers on the diagnostic chart.
1. Checks for good connections from the harness to the EBTCM itself.
2. Checks to see if the fault was false. If Code 71 resets, replace the EBTCM.
